USE IN: Canines and cats.
DESCRIPTION: Otic solution with bactericidal and fungicidal action for the treatment of otitis externa in dogs and cats caused by fungi or bacteria, or the combination of both. It also has anti-inflammatory, antipruriginous and anesthetic action.
INDICATIONS:
For the treatment of otitis externa where bacteria such as: Staphylococcus intermedius, Proteus mirabilis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, as well as Malassezia pachidermatis, Candida albicans, Aspergillus spp., and Rhizopus nigricans, etc., especially in canines and felines, are established as perpetual factors. Otitis in dogs and cats often has a multiple etiology that often makes it difficult to diagnose in the office, so polydrugs (antibiotics, antifungals and anti-inflammatory drugs) have great therapeutic value.
Dexamethasone acts as a specific drug in otitis of allergenic etiology, while having anti-inflammatory and anti-pruriginous activity.
Lidocaine acts as a local-type anesthetic that soothes the pain caused by the inflammatory process that is present.
DOSE AND ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION:
Dosage:
Less than 1 kg: 1 drop 3 times a day.
Over 1 kg: 2 to 3 drops 3 times a day.
It is recommended to apply until the clinical signs have disappeared.
It is advisable to clean or wash the external ear canal before applying GOTIKAS.
