DESCRIPTION AND MECHANISM OF ACTION:
PREDOFTAL® contains prednisolone which is a corticosteroid that inhibits the local inflammatory response. Corticosteroids work by inhibiting phospholipase A2, as well as cyclooxygenase (COX) and lipooxygenase pathways
(LOX). It inhibits the migration of macrophages to the site of inflammation, decreases edema, permeability, cell infiltration, capillary dilation, fibroblast proliferation, collagen deposits and the formation of
scars associated with inflammation. Prednisolone is a synthetic corticosteroid with an anti-inflammatory potency of 3 to 5 times higher than hydrocortisone. It also has anti-allergic action, as it inhibits the release of histamine (without antagonizing it) by blocking the histidine-decarboxylase action and decreasing the synthesis of prostaglandins.
INDICATIONS:
PREDOFTAL® is indicated in allergic conjunctivitis, follicular conjunctivitis, dry keratoconjunctivitis, keratitis and iritis. PREDOFTAL® is also indicated in inflammatory processes associated with cell and vascular proliferation, as happens in chronic superficial keratitis. Likewise, PREDOFTAL® is one of the anti-inflammatory drugs of choice in processes of nodular episcleritis or diffuse autoimmune type.
DOSAGE:
Apply 1 or 2 drops on the ocular surface or conjunctival sac 3 to 4 times a day.
ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION:
Ophthalmic.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the formula. Contraindicated in viral or fungal eye infections and when the integrity of the corneal epithelium is affected (ulcerations).

Store at room temperature at no more than 30°C and in dry place. I don't know
