Potassium bromide is considered an effective anticonvulsant drug in the treatment of primary epilepsy in dogs. palatable tablet.

indications:
Primary or adjunctive treatment of seizures that do not respond adequately to phenobarbital as a single agent.
The anticonvulsant activity of potassium bromide is attributed to its generalized depressant effects on neuronal excitability and activity.
Since potassium bromide is excreted in the urine and is not metabolized in the liver, it is a first class antiepileptic.

Adverse effects that occur from the use of potassium bromide are completely reversible when treatment is suspended or discontinued.
dose:
1 tablet per 30 kg. of weight (30 mg for each kg of weight)
every 24 hours. the duration of treatment is at the discretion of the veterinarian.

Do not administer to patients with hypersensitivity to the component of the formula.
Administer with food to reduce gastrointestinal irritation.
This product is contraindicated in dogs with renal insufficiency and congestive heart failure.
